The original Mutronics Mutator, a super sweet stereo analog filter and envelope follower created in the 90s, was an instant success and quickly became a recognizable feature of the 90s sound. Softube has partnered with Mutronics to bring the Mutator back in plug-in form with the same incredible sound quality as the original hardware plus all the benefits of a modern plug-in.

The user interface of the ME 1B is pretty straightforward. You have three different sections, the Low Frequency Peak, Mid Frequency Dip and the High Frequency Peak. The only confusing thing is that the mid section never boosts, but always attenuates the selected frequency. The other two sections, low and high frequency, always boost the frequencies. But as soon as you start to use the ME 1B in conjunction with the Tube-Tech PE 1C 'Pultec' Equalizer you'll find that these equalizers complement each other perfectly.

The Classic Channel is not your everyday channel strip, with a surgical equalizer and fast bus compressor. The Classic Channel is a vintage style and warm sounding channel strip put together from the most famous and classic Tube-Tech gear: The "Pultec” equalizer PE 1C, the mid-range equalizer ME 1B and the tube driven opto compressor CL 1B.

A deeply useable and versatile module by USA West Coast synth specialists 4ms, the Spectral Multiband Resonator (SMR) for Softube Modular can process audio like a classic filter bank, ring like a marimba when plucked/struck, vocode, re-mix tracks, harmonize, output spectral data, quantize other oscillators to scales and much more. It's colourful, complex, and musical, infinitely expanding what is possible to achieve with Modular.
