Disco was born in the inner city. While it hit mainstream airwaves and came to be loved universally, its sound was shaped by black American musicians like Phyllis Hyman, Diana Ross, and even jazz musicians like Roy Ayers. "Boogie Down” pays tribute to the soulfulness and funky rhythms of retro disco music. Featuring 10 songstarters with accompanying drum loops, this sample pack was created from scratch using real instruments recorded through an SSL 4000E console and plenty of other analog processing. Strings, horns, clavinets, guitars, and more are found in plenty on "Boogie Down”.

Almost two years ago, we released our very first sample pack, "Port Rich Volume 1”. It became our flagship sample collection, and set the bar for the quality of every sample pack we added to the library after the first Port Rich composition pack. A year and a half later (and 40-some releases later), we are back with the 6th installment of the Port Rich Series. There is no doubt that this is the most involved composition pack we have ever released.
In addition to the musicians we already have on staff, we have added live drums (Leonard "Pudge” Tribbett), trumpet (Chris Stevens), and live strings (Mugu Radu). To top it off, we had Grammy Award winning engineer Elvin "Wit” Shahbazian record, mix, and master every composition through his collection of analog gear.
