Sound Design Overview:
The Modern Progressive Essentials wave audio format impulse response library is based on an OwnHammer proprietary cabinet loaded with speaker types and captured in such a way as to recreate the guitar cabinet tones of the 2010's era New Wave of British Progressive Metal, from which it takes its most heavy sonic inspiration.
The signature and highly sought after "California crunch" in the midrange found here is instantly recognizable and undeniably familiar to those who hold this sound dear. While most at home in post millennium progressive hard rock and metal, this tone filter will serve well any who seek the harmonious marriage of chunk and clarity.

Low TunedThe Low Tuned Essentials wave audio format impulse response library is based on an OwnHammer proprietary cabinet captured and mixed in such a way as to complement extended range and heavily downtuned guitars for use in contemporary music styles and production. While not exclusively useful within these parameters, the primarily intended application is for guitars with the lowest pitch being B1 and below.
When increasing the unit weight of a string in combination with down tuning, the inherent resonance of the string changes tonality. In simple terms it gets muddy; where the thicker the string and the lower the pitch, the more it builds. The IR's in this pack combat this by shaping the tone in such a way as to reduce that mud, yet provide additional support for lower fundamentals so that tones are clear and detailed, without being harsh or thin, while still full bodied and retaining authority.

The York Audio MRSH 412 MV30-Dual Cab Pack is based on a 1999 Marshall 1960bv 4x12 cabinet loaded with the original Celestion G12 Vintage speakers. In our search for THE 1960bv, we auditioned four cabinets from various years with different musical journeys.
There was something about this cabinet that had an instantly inspiring personality to it. Normally, we capture the best sounding speaker when making a pack, but this cab had two drastically different sounding speakers with their own unique sonic qualities that made choosing the best speaker nearly impossible… so instead of choosing just one, we had to capture both to truly honor this cabinet.

When we see a badge on a cabinet, we automatically perceive it to sound like the brand that made it. People that play York Audio think of one common thread across all of the various cabinet brands our packs are inspired by… awesome tone. We wanted to create our own cabinet design that would sound great with any speaker and eliminate any preconceived notions as to what genre or purpose the cabinet would serve.
