Is it music for the big rooms? Underground sounds for small warehouses hidden in the sketchiest parts of the city? Deep afterhours sounds or prime time madness? The short answer – yes and no.
This is music to be made anyway you desire, because there are no rules. It’s an arsenal of materials meant to be twisted and turned into your own sonic agenda. It’s an assault on expectations. A product made for stepping outside of the usual tricks and techniques to allow for total creative freedom.
All the rules are broken inside ‘Assault On Preset 13,’ a product molding the expected sounds into mad creations otherwise never realized. Everything within ‘Assault On Preset 13’ was envisioned outside of the box, the preset compromised, the idea of how to make music modified upside down with endless creative freedom. Familiar synth hooks run through unorthodox effect units. Bleep, blips and glitches compressed into athumping kick drums. Melodies driven under thick layers of reverb and sound effects turned inside out. It’s a product designed with the understanding that creative music-making is endless. The knowledge that the usual presets can be the most unusual ingredients to creating music that is brand new and beyond exciting.
