Plughugger Journey to Magonia + Bonus Synth Presets
Inspired by the otherworldly tales collected by Jacques Vallée and the investigations of the mysterious Skinwalker Ranch by George Knapp, Journey to Magonia is a sonic journey to the centre of the Earth where the dinosaurs still roam among fantastical creatures of myth.

This is a world like no other.

"journey to magonia is a otherworldly soundset with a dreamy character of mystique and nature."

The majority of the sounds are focusing on textures, soundscapes and pads, but there are a fair number of effects, such as fantastical creatures, whooshes and organic hits & boomers. All the sounds in this collection were taken from the internal sample library of Omnisphere. But with the Primal Kazoo soundset - all samples have been recorded by us.

BONUS SOUNDSET - Primal Kazoo

To create an unique counterpoint to the main soundset, we also recorded sounds from two mighty horns of the modern age: the Kazoo and the Vuvuzela, two of each, all with different sonic characteristics. One traditional plastic Kazoo, and one differently shaped Kazoo made of wood. Both Vuvuzelas were made of plastic, one straight and one bent like and old hunters horn. These recordings were imported to Omnisphere for an extra dimension of other-worldliness.

Cellos of Darkness is a cinematic and ambient collection entirely based on the sound of strange cellos in Omnisphere. This soundset is the spiritual cousin to Inferno, which is based on the infamous burning piano. This collection of sounds is mainly based on the psycho-acoustic recordings of cellos in Omnisphere, many of which made by sound designer mastermind Diego Stocco.

But to bring in the soundset somewhat down to earth we decided to cast a wider net, and also include synthetic recordings of cellos, such as Mellotrons and old Yamaha toy keyboards.

Element 27 is the 11th entry in our hardware-centric series of soundsets for Omnisphere, where we focus on one synthesizer, record the most important aspects of it, and recreate its characteristics in Omnisphere.
Element 27 is a hybrid collection of analog and digital sounds, based on the Cobalt synthesizer by Modal Electronics.

The Cobalt is an 8-voice virtual analog synthesizer with a very interesting oscillator section with oscillators (called algorithms in Modal-speak) going from traditional subtractive waveforms to experimental fractal(!) waveforms.

The "Altoids” is one of the more curious sampled synthesizers in Omnisphere, and is basically miniature synthesizer with two knobs hosted in an old Altoids mints candy tin box.

While the sound of the synthesizers itself is limited in scope, its tone and feel is wonderfully synthetic, which probably was the reason why Spectrasonics included it in their library, together with a few sonic variations using the Korg Kaoss Pad effect unit.

Lumos is an ambient orchestra of sounds based on nothing else but the sounds of lamps. From mellow 40 watt lightbulbs all the way up to illuminating 200 watt.

When Spectrasonics created the Psychoacoustic section of samples in Omnisphere they didn't hold back burning up a piano just to hear how that might sound, or the glassy sound of tungsten lightbulbs being hit with different intensities.
