Garden of Delays

Petal is a Max for Live multi-tap delay that draws any sound into an ever-unfolding garden. The core of Petal is its eight-tap delay, evenly spaced at the dialed in delay time. Individual taps can be toggled on or off to create irregular rhythmic delays.

Shaping Time

The X-Y Shaping pad distorts the tap delay times in interesting ways. The Y-axis shifts the tap delay times from equidistant (linear) spacing to skewed (sigmoid) spacing. The X-axis skews the tap delay times closer to either tap 1 or tap 8.

Making it Sing

Each tap can be pitch-shifted up or down in perfect 5ths or octaves. Play a handful of notes and listen as it evolves into a rich harmonic background. The FFT pitch-shifting circuit provides clean pitch-shifting without any tonal coloration. Feeling uninspired? Tap the dice to generate endless pitch-shifting and tap on/off combinations.

Endless Unfolding

Add feedback and hear the delay pattern dance around. Petal uses a separate delay line in its feedback circuit, which can be set to individual tap length.

Character

Introducing character to Petal is easy: a no-nonsense filter for effortless tonal shaping, delay time modulation using the Wobble parameter, and soft clipping to add rich harmonics to the input signal.

Version 1.0.1

Petal 1.0.1 adds new presets designed by FORMWORK and SABROI. Additionally a small UI update was made so that the colors gray out when the device is inactive, and the tap pitch shifting is available in all semitones; not just 5ths and octaves.

Iridescence is a MaxForLive delay effect with arpeggiated note trails via a polyphonic real-time pitch shifting and delay system. You can select how many notes are in an arpeggiated "chord” created off of the audio input. Additionally, you can create up to 16 different chords that can transition via a Markov Chain (a probabilistic transition from chord to chord). This device can create beautiful harmonies off of a single note! There are various settings that allow the device to transform from one purpose to another. It is a powerhouse for real-time harmony on a continuous audio source! NOTE: This is an audio effect and though similar in some ways it is NOT by any means MIDI note arpeggiator!

(Live 10.1 or Later)

It sounds like a delay effector, but it is actually all mimicked by the complex granular system. Therefore, it is equipped with twist, under-control pitch feedback, and no drop-off freeze. Enjoy the randomness-free granular effect.

It's a multi tap delay matrix, where each possible line (up to 8) is integrated a high quality pitchshifter. The stereo signal is spread per channel in other 4 different pitchshifters, and through a patch bay you can connect the 8 channels inputs to different 8 outputs, or connect a single channel to multiple outputs, provided with delays which can be set in 3 different modes:
