Description
Have you ever wanted to play Jazz or Neo Soul like the guitarists that you're hearing online? In this class, we're going to cover the basics of Jazz and Neo Soul chords. We'll start with discovering what makes a basic triad chord, and how we manipulate the notes in a scale to transform our shapes into sevenths and ninths. We'll cover four types of seventh chords (major, minor, minor(b5) and Augmented), and two ninth chords (major and minor). In Jazz and Neo Soul Chords 102 we'll focus on more ninth chords, sixth chords, and thirteenth chords. We will learn individual chord shapes, but also how we build them and use them. More than just memorizing - I want to help you feel confident replacing chords in a progression with these new shapes, and fitting them into a parent key. This method will turn you from a memorizing machine holding a guitar into a truly creative musician! This course comes with a three page PDF with images of each shape so that you can practice effectively on your own. I recommend you use it alongside some chord progressions you've made and try to integrate some of the shapes into your own music.By the end of this course you'll have a basic understanding of some Jazz chord shapes and how to employ them to transform your playing. Let's get started!
