In this comprehensive UVI Soul Drums video course, veteran Groove3 instructor Eli Krantzberg takes you on an in-depth tour of UVI's Soul Drums virtual instrument. You'll learn how to make use of all the preset kits and grooves, program your own beats in several ways, edit individual drum sounds, add and tweak various built-in effects, and much more. By the end of the Should Drums course, you'll know it inside and out and will be ready to make use of it in your very next production. These videos are for new Soul Drums users.
Eli begins with a quick overview of the instrument, familiarizing you with the interface and demonstrating how to quickly play the sounds, customize mixing parameters, and more, just to provide a preview of things to come. Then it's on to the subject of kit customization, where Eli will show you how to begin with a preset kit and groove and then modify it as necessary to fit your needs. The Utility Kits and Utility Grooves are then explored in further detail, where you'll see how they can make an excellent foundation that can be further developed into the perfect drum part.
Next, you'll get a look at specific instrument articulations and mappings, including the snare, cymbals, and hi-hats, where you'll see how to get incredibly detailed with your programming for ultimate realism and subtlety. Eli then demonstrates how to get the most out of the toms, including alternate hits, rim clicks, and more.
