Reason RE Primal Audio PMS20 v2.0.1 WiN
VST Effects / VST Plugins

PMS-20 is an analog-modelled dual high-pass/low-pass filter. Simulating the characteristic Korg-35 filters from the iconic Korg MS-20 mono synth, PMS-20 brings the aggressive, screaming sound of the original unit to the Reason Rack.
- Industrial circuit simulated MS-20 filter
In order to faithfully recreate the character of the real filters we use techniques comparable to those applied in industrial circuit simulators. A topology-preserving, zero-delay feedback loop resolved by a cutting edge and highly optimised differential solver ensures that the sheer authenticity of the analogue sound is preserved when driving PMS-20 into saturation, as well as into self-oscillation. PMS-20 has many uses; from crunching up beats, adding some bite to samples, or giving vocals an edge to hoovering sweeps, making synth leads growl, or demolishing whole tracks.
V. 2.0 adds an extra, and even more authentic, filter model based on the same methods that we have used in our popular Rack Extension filter: Ladder. The old model (A) and the new model (B) can be selected with a switch on the rear.
Features:
- 6dB/oct self-oscillating high-pass filter
- 12dB/oct self-oscillating low-pass filter
- INDUSTRIAL CIRCUIT SIMULATION: We use techniques from industrial circuit simulators to accurately model electric components
- RAGE SWITCH: Pushes the filter over the edge
- CV INPUTS: Modulate the cutoff of both filters
- MIX: Wet/dry knob for parallel processing

LADDER is an analogue modelled multimode filter. Based on the characteristic ladder filter design used in the iconic Minimoog synthesizer, LADDER brings the smooth, organic sound of the original unit to the Reason Rack. LADDER is build on cutting-edge DSP rooted in techniques used in industrial circuit simulators in order to accurately model its analogue components. Furthermore it extends the original filter with a mixer with simultaneous low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass sources and a stereo-spacing effect, resulting in an extremely versatile unit capable of all kinds of effects from gentle distortion to complete analogue mayhem.

ACID is an analogue-modelled low-pass filter. Based on the characteristic diode ladder filter design from the vintage Roland TB-303 synthesizer, ACID brings the squelchy sound of the original unit to the Reason Rack. ACID uses cutting-edge DSP rooted in techniques used in industrial circuit simulators to accurately model its analogue components. Furthermore it extends the original filter with an envelope follower, resulting in a versatile unit capable of many types of effects from gentle overdrive and adding some bite to samples to transforming dull synth sequences into bubbly, acidy riffs.

The Drop is an analog modeled resonant filter plug-in based on classic analog synth filters, as well as completely new designs. It uses the same high quality algorithms used in circuit simulators, but optimised to run fast, and features a gorgeous fully scalable user interface. There is a huge level of detail in the models, which gives them amazing drive and tone. The original structure of the circuits is preserved in the model, as is the location and shape of all major non-linearities.
