Reason RE GForce Software ChamberTron RE v1.0.1 WiN
Inspired by the tape replay keyboard originally invented by Harry Chamberlin in the 1950s, which, via a fascinating twist of fate, gave rise to the Mellotron. ChamberTron-RE provides a highly evocative set of sounds within an easy to use and carefully crafted Rack Extension.

Remaining faithful to the 35 note, 8 second limitation of the original Chamberlin M-series keyboards, ChamberTron-RE gives you direct access to 35 coveted tape banks curated by both the original British Mellotron manufacturer, Streetly Electronics, and the GForce Software Chamberlin instrument collection.

Use ChamberTron-RE either as a straightforward playback device for these rare and iconic sounds, or, via the dual-layer and comprehensive editing features, create your own bespoke, hybrid patches which inject all the character from yesteryear without the expense of owning and maintaining an original Chamberlin tape replay instrument.

The modern, polyphonic string synthesiser was invented in 1970 by Ken Freeman, a British keyboard player and engineer who discovered that if you layered two notes then detuned and slightly modulated one a pleasant 'chorused' sound resulted. Over the next 10+ years Ken's initial discovery spawned an industry that saw the manufacture of more than one hundred 'string machines' and multi-keyboards.

Although viewed by some as a one-trick-pony or a poor man's polysynth, string machines had so much character they've graced tracks by artists as diverse as; Lonnie Liston Smith, Air, Pink Floyd, The Cure, Parliament, Herbie Hancock, Camel, Joy Division, Jean-Michel Jarre, Thomas Dolby, Tonto's Expanding Head Band, Genesis, Toni Tone Tony and countless others.
