In version 2, the original vision of Lexicon PSP42 has been enhanced both in sonic accuracy and feature flexibility. Limited-S is a high quality De-Esser, Enhancer and harshness controller designed for use in both mixing and mastering applications.

Limited-S uses a different approach than typical De-Essers, Dynamic EQs, etc., in that it does not use a tradition compressor-type Attack/Decay level detector. Instead, Limited-S uses a very fast, Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter that exactly calculates the envelope of the signal at all times. There is no need to fuss with attack and decay settings to get acceptable results. When Threshold and Ratio are set properly, de-essing action will be completely transparent in most cases. All you will hear is less sibilance.

True Mid/Side is a unique plugin that extracts the true phantom center and true STEREO side signals from a stereo mix.

Traditional "Mid/Side” processing is often a misnomer for what is technically "sum and difference” processing. In this traditional approach the "Mid” output is simply the mono sum of left and right (L+R) while the "side” output is the mono difference of left and right (L-R). Any signals panned hard left or hard right - which are actually pure "side” signals - will appear in both the Mid and Side outputs. Meanwhile, the "Side” output is a mono mix containing both the left and right sides. This is not how we hear stereo!

PSP 285 is based on our legendary PSP 84 and PSP 85* delay plug-ins. It's our latest exploration of the endless possibilities offered by variable sample rate delay lines. It can produce an extremely wide variety of delay-based effects – from simple slapbacks and echoes to complex rhythmic patterns, from faithful magnetic tape delay simulations to twisted out-of-this-world pitch-shifting and resonant filtering effects – all at world-class audio quality.

NOTE: Because of its many new features, PSP 285 is not backward compatible with PSP 85, which will no longer be developed further. PSP 285 will not replace PSP 85 when installed, but we recommend that you use PSP 285 in your new and future projects.

Cans2Cones reduces the "superstereo” effect of headphones by generating cross-mixed Interaural Time and Amplitude Differences (ITD and IAD) for left and right ears. This crossfeed is not the same thing as simple panning or stereo width reduction. It actually produces a sense of distance to the emulated "speakers” with subtle EQ changes and comb filtering that occurs with real loudspeakers in a real room.

Pristine Peaks is an ultra-low distortion peak limiter for use in both mixing and mastering applications where the utmost in transparent peak control is required. Pristine Peaks uses a novel approach to dynamics control that produces a very "clean" sound that does not break up or distort even at high gain reduction amounts. Instead of saturating or clipping waveform peaks, Pristine Peaks determines what needs to be done to control the peaks and applies that gain change to the entire waveform. This results in extremely low THD that does not increase with gain reduction.
