'Turkish Divan Saz' by Earthone presents a collection of traditional divan saz melodies that have been professionally played, recorded and packed to ensure that you will never miss any little detail in your project.

The 'Divan Saz' is the largest of the baglama family. It is also called the Meydan saz and the name is believed to be related to the fact that in meetings of Asiks, they would challenge each other. It has a metre-long neck and eight strings and is most commonly played in Anatolia. They are used both for Folk music and for modern popular music.

In detail, expect to find 548 MB of raw content featuring 90 beautifully played 'Divan Saz' loops at 90, 110, 130 BPM and includes a dry version (w/o any additional e.q, compressor or reverb effects) and wet version of each, giving a total of 180 files. The cumbush is a Turkish stringed instrument of relatively modern origin. It was developed in 1930 by Zeynel Abidin Cumbush (1881-1947) as a fretless oud-like instrument that could be heard as part of a larger ensemble. It is shaped like an American banjo, with a spun-aluminium resonator bowl and skin soundboard. Although originally configured as an oud, the instrument has been converted to other instruments by attaching a different set of neck and strings.

Sazbush as a instrument, was a big success in the traditional Turkish parties of the 40s. For the Gypsy musicians who played in huge weddings, it was perfect as the oud and the Saz always disappears in big spaces, especially when played with loud instruments such as trumpets drums and such. For them, the Cumbus Saz was just the perfect solution.

"Cura” is a stringed Turkish folk instrument and most commonly played in Anatolia. The smallest member of the baglama family with the highest pitched sound. It has only three strings, small body and short finger board. Cura has a traditional playing technique with fingernails so don't need to use plectrum while performing.
