The EPS Electric Reed Organ sample library is a creative collaboration between Edu Prado and Jan Pfitzer, resulting in an amazing virtual instrument built from a vintage Bontempi BN8 chord electric reed organ.
If you are into vintage instruments or a fan of reeds, this library features a comprehensive collection of sounds and samples that showcase the full range of the BN8's capabilities, from the deep and powerful bass notes to the bright and shimmering treble tones.
For a detailed and realistic experience, we also sampled the characteristic fan noise of the electric organ, and of course the click sound of the old keys. On the instrument's interface, you can turn the fan and key sounds on or off, giving you an extra layer of control, in case you need a pristine clean reed sound.
And to bring the vintage sound to the next level, we also recorded all the samples through an analogue cassette tape, adding character, warmth, and some wobble to the sound on the taped patches.
On this sample library, you can experiment with different settings and effects to create your own unique soundscapes and compositions. Whether you are a professional musician, a student, or simply an enthusiast, the EPS Electric Reed Organ is sure to bring inspiration and delight.

Pedal-powered reed organs (often referred to as pump organs) were once the most popular instruments in the USA. Manufactured by the Estey Organ Company from 1860 onwards, they were often housed in ornate and elaborate pieces of furniture.
The organ we have recorded appears to be a high-top Grand Salon Organ, dating from around the turn of the 19th century. It is played, as you might expect, by pumping the two foot pedals alternately, to force air through the reed mechanism. It requires some technique, and no small amount of effort to keep a strong, even tone from the instrument.

Just like for the VTines and the B-5 Organ, we combined synthesis techniques and sampling to achieve a high level of playability and tweaking while maintaining a realistic sound.
This allows the VReeds to weight only 70Mb and to really sound like a Wurlitzer© Electric Piano with all of its imperfections while having a fully continuous response (if you're not convinced, listen to the 127 velocity example in our video) as well as a highly tweakable sound.
There are a few Wurlitzer Electric Pianos, but the most famous ones are the 200 and the 200A. There are subtle differences between the two models mainly due to the thickness of the Reeds and the amplifier circuit. Instead of choosing one, we decided to sample the two models and offer you the choice from the interface.

Sound Dust Saxomaphonium is a hybrid Kontakt instrument hewn from layers of baritone and alto sax plus two ancient wind-powered reed organs. It takes un-cool elements, records them nicely and then re-imagines them into something entirely new.
With a deep but manageable Kontakt engine, the Saxomaphonium creates a new reed/metal/wood-based palette that can cover a surprisingly wide range of stunning possibilities.

Dreampop Inspired
RM-20 is a collection of sampled sounds inspired by the Yamaha PS-20, an electric organ built in 1981. The PS-20's sound are lo-fi but charming, and it has been heavily used by the band Beach House, where it's lo-fi tones contribute to the band's dreampop atmosphere. The RM-20 sampled instrument pack uses high quality multi-samples of all ten of the Yamaha PS-20s sounds, and the samples retain the charm of the original instrument whilst adding modern functionality the original lacks, such as the ability to program via MIDI. Run through effects like chorus, delay and reverb will bring these samples to life to inspire new songs.
